Fifty Rubies Productions was founded in 2000 by Dakkan Abbe, a former editor at Wine & Spirits Magazine. The company produced the 2004 PBS documentary travel series Inside the Tuscan Hills. 
More recently, Dakkan has produced programming for several cable networks and he has directed music videos, narrative films and documentaries on a number of subjects. 

Dakkan has recently completed several feature length screenplays and has several television series in development.
